The BackPage Express has steamed through Stirling, Edinburgh and London this week as part of our promotional tour for Graham Hunter's Barcelona book.
The passion and interest in not just Barcelona, but Spanish football in general was reflected in the big turnouts for our events and signings, plus the quality of the questions from the floor.
We have spoken before about fans' depth of knowledge and how this has found expression in football blogs and podcasts. Modern football supporters know their stuff and will no longer tolerate being patronised by ex-pros and dull commentators.
As such, it is no coincidence that Sky Sports' Spanish football coverage, in particular Revista de la Liga, has found an appreciative audience.
As part of our whistle-stop London visit, we had the privilege to observe from behind the scenes during the live broadcast of Tuesday's programme. With Scott Minto as host, there were no spare seats at the bar as Graham, Guillem Balague, Gerry Armstrong and Terry Gibson looked ahead to this weekend's Clasico.
It is a football show in the proper sense. Everyone is well-researched and knows their subject inside out. The analysis is thorough and the opinions strong. There are frequent disagreements, as there should be on a proper football show. Most of all, it felt authentic.
Armstrong is a case in point. He has been on the scene for years now, but his enthusiasm remains undimmed. Unlike other older pundits, who think it is good enough to turn up on set and see what comes out their mouth, he clearly does his research and has an impressive knowledge of specific games, players and incidents.
